What Does It Involve?
Invisalign involves wearing a series of clear aligners that are custom made to fit your teeth. These progressively aim to bring your teeth in alignment. You have to wear each Aligner for 1-2 weeks for at least 22 hours each day.

We first do a thorough assessment which incorporates taking pictures, scans, impressions, x-rays, etc. The treatment plan is devised digitally. This gives us a rough idea of how your teeth can be moved to a desired position.

You are expected to be committed to wearing them for 22 hours every single day and floss and brush your teeth thoroughly every time  after eating.

How Long Does It Take?
The treatment time can range from anywhere between 3 months to 2 years depending upon the complexity.

What Is The Cost?
The cost can only be determined after the assessment. This depends upon the complexity of treatment, this can range from £3500 to £4000.

Why Choose Invisalign and what are the advantages?
Clear aligners have become one of the most popular treatments for straightening teeth among adults – not only for the tried and tested results, but also because they are practically invisible to other people. They are a revolutionary cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces.

Over 11 million people, including more than 2 million teens, have used Invisalign clear aligners to transform their smiles.

Invisalign treatment is the most advanced clear aligner system in the world, backed by more than two decades of innovation. There is constant research going on in the background to improve this technology even further.
Unlike braces, Invisalign clear aligners are removable and virtually invisible. It is hardly noticeable. There are no wires and brackets, so you don’t need to change the way you brush and floss. And, you can continue to eat all your favourite foods.

Can I take my aligners off whenever I need to?
Yes, you can remove your Invisalign aligners for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. You can take them off for special occasions, like a wedding, job interview, or for playing your favourite sport or instrument. Just remember to wear them 20 to 22 hours a day to get the best results.

Are there any restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment?
No! Invisalign clear aligners are removable, so there are no food restrictions at all. With traditional wires and brackets, there’s a long list of foods you unfortunately can’t enjoy, as they can damage or get stuck in your braces.

Is Invisalign Treatment painful?
Invisalign Treatment moves your teeth by applying gentle, constant force, but some people do feel temporary discomfort for the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. Typically, people describe it as feeling “pressure” and it’s normal.
Please see your Invisalign Doctor if you have any concerns or experience continued discomfort.

What Happens After Treatment Is Finished?
Wearing retainers is important to keep the teeth in place and prevent them from moving. Your dentist will discuss the options of removable and fixed retainers.
Maintaining good oral hygiene with regular brushing and flossing is important. Also seeing the hygienist regularly is beneficial.
Sometimes, when teeth are straightened, their shapes look more different and noticeable. This is when your dentist may recommend some bonding treatment to enhance your smile even further. This will require further assessment and planning and can only be planned after your Invisalign treatment is over.

Testimonials

Dr Uzma Patel

After going through jaw surgery and having braces I still wanted a few changes to my two teeth that were shorter then others.

Dr Uzma Patel has done an incredible job and I would highly recommend anyone who is wanting C.Bonding. We went over all the small changes to make it perfect for my individual smile.

Always checking how I was feeling and it really is pain free. I will definitely be going back if i need anything else done. Thank you again for all your time.

All the best

I remember being horrified seeing a photo of myself at a friend’s wedding and this inspired me to take action about my crooked front teeth. They had always bothered me and I’d started to notice that the staining caused by tea and coffee was much more prominent where the teeth overlapped. I consulted with Dr Uzma to see how I could achieve a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing smile that would perhaps make me less averse to photographs and make my teeth easier to look after. Dr Uzma has paid great attention to detail and made efforts to consult with other Invisalign experts to ensure the plan was best designed for me. She clearly takes great pride in her work and I felt in safe hands. 4 months on and I’ve been over the moon with the results (a far cry from memories of retainers/ braces from when I was at school). I have a ‘cleaner’ and straighter smile which hasn’t gone unnoticed by many friends and work colleagues. Some have even commented on my new ‘perfect’ teeth.

Dr Uzma has given considerable commitment to my Invisalign treatment, but the rewards required considerable commitment from me as a patient. You have to wear retainers for 22 hours a day for at least three months and clean your teeth well each time after eating before putting them back in. I’d underestimated how challenging this would be as a lover of hot drinks and snacks, and juggling the timings of eating around work meetings to ensure my retainers wouldn’t be out for long. I have experienced mild discomfort in the form of sore teeth at the start of a new retainer and mouth sores/ a sore tongue. Dr Uzma has offered thorough advice throughout and, in my view, the long-term benefits will outweigh the short-term challenges.

I was very touched when my daughter caught coronavirus at school and Dr Uzma made the effort to deliver my retainers to my door. I also gained great comfort from the regular reviews/check points to make sure everything was proceeding well. I’d certainly recommend both Dr Uzma and Invisalign to others – a commitment not to undertake lightly, but one which will yield results that will not disappoint. I no longer feel self conscious about my teeth and smile with much more confidence.
